STUDENT VOICES: The Verse needs you!

Want to write for or edit The Verse this year?  Passionate about photography and/or design?  Passionate about journalism?  We’re recruiting for a new editorial team for The Verse as well as looking for talented contributors and writers.  We’d also welcome contributions from photographers, artists, designers, as well as any imaginative ideas you have for The Verse going forward.  Even if you’ve never done journalism before we can offer you opportunities, experience and support to get contributing and learn new skills.  Not only can being involved in online journalism boost your writing abilities and career prospects after University, but it’s lots of fun too!

So, if you’ve got a burning desire to write about something local or national that you think students need to hear about — get in touch!  We’ve also got lots of contacts in the arts and cultural scene in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings looking for students to review their shows, gigs and events.  Free tickets anyone?

Our first meeting for The Verse will be on 11th November 2014 at Steam House on the Moulsecoomb campus (next to Mithras House) from 5pm – 6pm – all welcome!  So, if you’re interested in any aspect of The Verse, whether it’s taking on an editorial role, being an official photographer, or an occasional contributor, come along to that meeting and in the meantime feel free to get in touch with your ideas or questions via studentmedia@brighton.ac.uk.
