PREVIEW: Swing Patrol, Brighton

The Verse’s Chanelle Manton previews a new dance class being launched in September 2017, by the charity Swing Patrol.

Worried about those post-summer blues? The Verse might have a solution for you! **First class free for all readers!**

Swing Patrol is a charity passionate about getting new people into swing dancing! Described as fun and friendly, they can offer a range of classes to suit you. If you have never swung before, the beginners class is a great place to get started, so come along and have a giggle whilst being introduced to this beautiful art form! With three great venues around Brighton and Hove, Swing Patrol guarantees good tuition, great dancing, and the chance to be part of this community. Just imagine the look on the bartender’s face at The Mesmerist –  you’re sipping a cocktail you’ve never heard of and then suddenly you’re actually able to jump up and join in when the Charleston comes on…

This love affair between dance and music is not to be missed; the Swing Patrol team have featured on Call the Midwife, The People’s Strictly, as well as the Guinness Book of Records for the World Charleston record. The team also secured funding from Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden several years ago.
Swing Patrol Brighton are kindly offering The Verse’s readers a complimentary class to give swing a go, so try something new this September! If you want to see Swing Patrol dancing for a great cause, head down to Brighton Pier on Wednesday 19th July, 3:30pm – 6pm, to see the launch of this year’s Big Get Together fundraising campaign for South East Hospices!
