Student Elections, Candidate for VP Activities and Events Jess Fay!

Her Manifesto:

To have a year of events that people won’t forget. Including, an unforgettable Freshers Fortnight, a re-generated Holly Ball & making sure that the smaller campus’ don’t get forgotten.

I plan on listening to everyone’s views on the events around the University, hoping to use BSCoop, FSCoop & MSCoop as my main communication links. As part of the original BSCoop, and now the Secretary, I have been involved since last year, helping organise events in Eastbourne such as, the end of year Garden Party, the fortnightly Pub Quizzes. As well as this we kick started our SU Bar, taking it from Stokers to The Starting Gate.

I want to combine the best parts of everyone’s past Freshers Fortnights, to make sure we have a chance of having the best Freshers yet. Whilst making sure to keep the traditions alive and not forgetting that every campus is different and taking your views into consideration, finding out what you liked and didn’t like.

I hope to re-generate Holly Ball to make it enjoyable and affordable, focusing on making it easier for those based in other campus’ to attend. I plan on bringing all campus’ together, to improve connections across the University. As well as this, to give the sports teams the chance to show off their talents, creating another event similar to Dance Rivals in Brighton.

RAG week has been amazing so far, however it can be bigger and better. I hope to involve more students than ever to raise money for their chosen charities. Including more events and more ways to get involved.

The difference between something good and something great is the attention to detail.
