PREVIEW: Gengahr @ Green Door Store, 21/11/2016

The Verse’s Melanie Valencia previews Gengahr ahead of their show at the Green Door Store on the 21st November.

Currently on their second UK headline tour, Gengahr is an upcoming band you’ll want to know about! The band hails from North London, and is made up of school friends Felix, Danny, Hugh and, finally, John, who joined the group just before Gengahr was formed. Their debut album A Dream Outside features a blend of alternative rock and indie sounds with dreamy undertones; the track Bathed In Light has a psychedelic Tame Impala feel to it.

The band’s humble sound and personality has gained them a devoted fan base, resulting in consistently positive and encouraging reviews. Their singles She’s A Witch and Fill My Gums With Blood have gained the attention of many listeners and are the two songs that successfully define their sound. Another way to describe their sound is through their album, which as a whole forms the perfect soundtrack for wandering around a city to. This is due to their mixture of intensified synths and guitar sounds, and hazy tracks.

Gengahr are an exciting new band, and will be here to shake up Brighton when they perform at The Green Door Store on Monday 21st November. Be sure to grab yourself some tickets and immerse yourself in what is sure to be a brilliant atmosphere.
