First wave of artists announced for Together The People Festival 2016

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Together The People Festival, which took place at Preston Park, local promoters One Inch Badge have confirmed that former Beach Boy Brian Wilson will headline the festival on its return to Brighton this September.

Wilson will be joined onstage by former bandmate Al Jardine as he performs seminal 1966 album Pet Sounds in full plus an array of fan favourites in what is a UK festival exclusive.

Pet Sounds is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time, and Together The People is providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see it performed live in its entirety, all within a short jaunt of the city centre.

Joining Wilson on the first announcement of the festival’s eclectic line-up include motorik indie puppeteers, The Horrors, Gaz Coombes of Supergrass and solo fame as well as Turin Brakes, Sage Francis and many more.

It’s not all about the music though, with Together The People also boasting a variety of other entertainment, including a dedicated children’s area, the spoken word and poetry touting Soapbox Stage, as well as the universally loved festival favourites of street food and craft beer (which, in addition to being tasty, are also locally sourced).

Together The People Festival prides itself on being an independent, non-camping metropolitan music and arts festival, with organisers saying its chief aim is to celebrate the music and culture of Brighton in a family friendly, creative and socially aware way.

The line-up so far:
