New ‘Wild Life Festival’ Coming To Brighton

Disclosure & Rudimental

A NEW festival is heading to town this summer, hitting Brighton City Airport over the weekend of June 6 & 7 2015.

SJM Concerts, who currently run V fest and Manchester’s Parklife festival, have teamed up with electronic duo Disclosure and drum’n’bass BRIT-awarded favourites Rudimental to deliver West Sussex’s first annual high capacity event – Wild Life Festival.

The website launch marked all official announcements of the festival, which has developed rapidly since application was approved by the Adur District Council on the 7th January. Live sets from the aforementioned artists have already been confirmed, along with Sam Smith, George Ezra, Wu Tang Clan, Jamie XX and a DJ set from Radio 1’s Annie Mac. A full line-up is set to be available by Thursday.

On the decision to bring the festival to West Sussex, Rob Ballantine, Director of SJM Concerts, has said, “We wanted to focus on somewhere that has a huge student base, and Brighton fit.”

Questioned on accessibility and the option of camping, he also mentioned, “There are great public transport options, so we didn’t feel that [camping] was necessary; it’ll be more like a big party”.

Disclosure echoed this notion, “We’re both so excited to announce the creation of WILD LIFE Festival! And so, so proud to have been able to curate an amazing line up along side our good mates, Rudimental. What a weekend this is going to be!”

The festival will run throughout the day, with the night’s entertainment ending at 1am on the Saturday, and midnight on the Sunday. SJM have confirmed the festival will offer shuttle transfers back to University campuses in Brighton to those with a valid ticket.

A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available from Thursday afternoon to Saturday, January 31, via the Box Office in Shoreham town centre, priced at £55 per day/£99 for the full weekend. Students can indicate from there which campus they are situated to qualify for the shuttle. General sale opens online on Friday. For more information, visit their website.
