PREVIEW: Amber Run @ Concorde 2, 04/10/2017

The Verse’s Francesca Thornton tells us what she thinks of Amber Run’s sophomore album, For A Moment, I Was Lost, as the band commences their autumn UK tour.

They say music allows the listener to find focus and feel a rush of emotions, depending upon the genre that you listen to. Amber Run, an emerging alternative pop/rock band formed in 2012, are certainly capable of this, and are proving it with the succcess of their second album, released at the beginning of the year. The Nottingham four-piece are gaining fans faster than you can say their second album title, For A Moment, I Was Lost. The work is a stark but exciting contrast to their debut album 5AM, eliciting a more defined rock sound that combines the smooth, melodious lead vocals with that of the heart-wrenching drum beat and invigorating vibrations of the guitar. Their sound explores a larger terrority, including electronic-synth sounds on tracks such as their debut single from the second album, Haze. Juxtaposing their lead single I Found, both tracks amongst the rest of their striking discography manage to invoke the perfect sound that you can imagine being imbedded within a cinematic soundtrack.

To showcase For A Moment, I Was Lost, Amber Run have announced a UK tour consisting of 12 dates, including Brighton’s very own Concorde 2 on 4th October. The venue, housing only 600 fans, is the perfect space to stage the anthemic and atmospheric sound which Amber Run create, producing a show that is sure to send shivers down the spines of those attending. As a fan myself from the moment I heard I Found, I have been anticipating a show from this exciting band. With their invigorating and heartfelt discography, Amber Run are sure to put on a show that, as cliché as it sounds, will be hard to forget.

You won’t want to miss this band; the Independent commented on how their live shows “are testament to the fact that they’ve earned their stripes in sweaty pub venues, though you suspect they’ve been hearkening to the call of the stadium throughout.”

Tickets for the show are only £14, available now from https://www.musicglue.com/amber-run.

As Concorde 2 only has a limited capacity, the show is expected to sell out, so be sure to grab your tickets before it’s too late!
