The Verse’s Alex Berdugo previews Royal Blood ahead of their show at Brighton Centre on 29th November 2017.
Royal Blood are a band that took the heavy rock genre by surprise. When we heard tracks such as Loose Change and Figure It Out from their debut album, it was almost impossible to believe that the enormous riffs, pounding drums and powerful vocals were the work of only two people. Not only did Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher sound as big as a five-piece band, but their songs were a breath of fresh air on the music scene.
Making an explosive return in 2017 with their second album How Did We Get So Dark?, Royal Blood have hit the mark once again. The duo have succeeded in making the record familiar without being too similar to their first. Still donning the electric bass and drum combo, they have won their fans hearts with tracks such as She’s Creeping and I Only Lie When I Love You. Each new song is fuelled with adrenaline and are downright addictive.
After a sensational summer playing festivals by the likes of Gurtenfestival 2017, Royal Blood will be visiting their home town of Brighton. Taking the stage at the Brighton Centre will be a phenomenal experience: the town’s love for the band and the heights that the recent releases have achieved will make the atmosphere in the crowd electric. You can expect the roaring riffs of Kerr’s distorted bass to be perfectly paired with Thatcher’s thundering rhythm, playing fan-favourites as well as new classics.
Don’t miss Royal Blood at the Brighton Centre this November. This is for any fan of good old fashioned rock n’ roll – you will not be disappointed.
