Brighton, the second cultural hub of England, invites the rest of the world to a weekend of sun, tunes and JME. WILDLIFE Festival returns for a third successive year, and it appears it will be the best so far.
There’s something for everyone-for the top 40 kids you have Jess Glynne headlining the main stage on Friday, swedish chick Zara Larsson, violiners Clean Bandit and voice of thunder Rag N Bone Man. You have plenty of music for the ravers, highlights Fatboy Slim, a performance I’m particularly looking forward to and who I’m sure will be whipping up some brilliant 90s nostalgia and non-stop bangers till 1! Also Mura Masa-aesthetic king and steel drum Maestro, make sure you pop over to see SG Lewis who will be able to provide a cool antidote after hours of dancing.
Grime fans will be in their element with the Godfathers of the genre Dizzee Rascal and Wiley performing across the weekend, with cohorts Stormzy, JME, Giggs and many others! Prepare yourself for the mosh-pits to “Shut Up”-trust me I’ve been there. And finally the legends quota is filled with funk genius and all round brilliant person Chaka Khan who I can only hope plays “I Feel For You” on repeat. Damian Marley will be bringing some much needed reggae to the Wildlife Main Stage on Saturday.
And of course, the two groups who have brought us all this goodness, house titans Disclosure and drum and bass gods Rudimental, will be making an appearance. June can’t come soon enough!
