HANDBALL: Great Danes 24 Brighton Seahawks 25

With one defeat already this season, Brighton Seahawks would need to pull out all the stops down in London against the dangerous Great Danes 2nd team to secure a top spot in London South Mens Regional League.

Seahawks started the first half full of energy and passion, earning a 4-goal advantage early on. Seahawks defence and impressive attacking performance proved to be a dangerous combination as they forged a 5-goal lead at half time.

However, after the break the Danes settled their nerves and nearly levelled the score. With two minutes to go Great Dane were down by 2 goals and two of Brighton’s players received two minutes suspensions. Seahawks stood firm and saw out the game ending 25 – 24.

This was a huge victory for the enthusiastic Seahawks squad, and you could see the pleasure in the faces of the players who are just about to complete their first season in the league. It was a huge performance in London. Seahawks will hope to use the victory to galvanize the squad and end the season on a high. With a win against Ruislip Eagles 2nd next weekend, the top spot after regular season will be secured.

1,2,3 Seahawks!
